NEW DELHI: Union minister V Muraleedharan has said that the mega vaccination centres are becoming new hotspots of Covid 19 transmission. “Whose idea is the mega vaccination centres, grave human rights violations are going on there. Isn’t it better to fight against the vaccine policy after getting the free vaccines,” V Muraleedharan asked.
Facilities available in Kerala’s hospitals are not enough. Action should be taken to enhance them as soon as possible. High rates are levied for the RT-PCR tests in Kerala. It is done with the intention to help private hospitals and labs. Other states are criticising the state on this matter,” he said. He also asked who is handling the health ministry in the wake of K K Shylaja’s absence as she is on quarantine.
“The health minister has said that medical colleges in the state have received central funds, then why oxygen plants were not installed in the state’s hospitals including the Kottayam medical college. If any lapses had happened in handling the covid situation then it is the responsibility of the states. How Narendra Modi could be held responsible for the lapses committed by states? Let people evaluate whether any lapses had occurred on the centre’s part,” he said.
“The union minister of state is not appointed by Kerala and I am criticising only the government of Kerala, not the state or its people. It will continue. Kerala is not Pinarayi Vijayan,” Muraleedharan said.
