Eight-month pregnant 'drug queen' shot dead by fourth husband in Delhi's Nizamuddin, CCTV captures crime

NEW DELHI: An eight-month pregnant woman was shot by her husband in Delhi on Tuesday morning. The victim has been identified as 29-year-old Saina, an alleged drug dealer operating in the national capital. The woman’s husband, Waseem, also injured Saina’s domestic help when he tried to defend her.

The incident took place at 10:30 am on Tuesday morning in Delhi’s Hazrat Nizamuddin area. The police immediately reached the scene of the crime but Saina was already dead by then. The servant was admitted to a nearby hospital.

A nearby CCTV captured the whole incident. The footage showed Waseem firing a dozen shots at Saina, and when her domestic help tried to intervene, Waseem shot him as well.

ARREST OF ‘DRUG QUEEN’ SAINA

Saina married her fourth husband Waseem a year back. She was arrested soon after her marriage for her alleged involvement in drug deals. She was released a few days ago on bail on the ground that she was eight months pregnant with twins.

Her first two husbands ended up leaving her and moving away to Bangladesh. Her third marriage was to a drug dealer named Sharafat Sheikh, who is also known as ‘drug lord’ in Delhi-NCR. Sheikh is an alleged gangster and drug dealer who was arrested by the police under the NDPS Act.

WHY DID THE HUSBAND SHOOT HIS PREGNANT WIFE?

After Saina was arrested, Waseem had an extramarital affair with her sister, Rehana. When Saina was released from jail, his relationship with Rehana suffered. He often quarrelled with Saina about his affair with her sister as well.

Waseem decided to get rid of Saina to continue his relationship with her sister. He planned to murder Saina and brought two pistols with him. On reaching Saina’s house, Waseem repeatedly shot the victim and fired shots at the woman’s servant as well when he tried to defend her.

In the CCTV footage, Waseem can be seen taking multiple shots at his wife, reloading the gun, and then shooting at her again.

SIMPLE MURDER OR CONSPIRACY TO COVER DRUG SYNDICATE?

After the murder, Waseem reached the Nizamuddin police station with the two pistols still in his possession and surrendered before the police.

Since Waseem has no previous record, the police are also investigating if the mastermind behind the whole plan is Saina’s sister Rehana.

Furthermore, the police are also investigating if the murder of the woman who was allegedly involved in drug deals is a conspiracy to hide information about the drug syndicate in Delhi.
