Commission should be appointed to study backwardness of marginalized sections of Hindu community; BJP demands implementation of High Court judgment on minority ratio

bjp

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The BJP has demanded that the state government should appoint a commission to study the backwardness of marginalized sections of the Hindu community. It called for an action similar to that of the appointment of the Paloli Committee to study the backwardness of the Muslim community and the appointment of KB Koshi Commission to study the backwardness of the Christian community. The proposal was made by the BJP at an all-party meeting convened by the Chief Minister following the High Court order quashing the 80:20 ratio in the Minority Scholarship. The BJP demanded that the High Court verdict should be implemented.

Only six districts in Kerala have Christian representation in the District Level Committee for the implementation of minority welfare schemes by the central government. State General Secretary George Kurian, who attended the meeting on behalf of the BJP, pointed out that this was discriminatory and should be rectified as soon as possible.
