THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: At a time when the CPM is all set to organise a state wide women’s campaign against the rising anti-feminism in Kerala society, the party has come forward with strong anti-women remarks against a woman representative of their own party. There is an anti-women campaign against Binsha B Sharaf, district panchayat member from Thiruvananthapuram Kallara division, on the social media. CPM party members and people's representatives are behind this.
The CPM-CPI local dispute in the region is the reason behind the anti-women remarks. Recently, local leaders and activists had left the CPM and joined the CPI. With this, there was a clash between the two parties.
Sanu Chelsa, a CPM party member and CITU worker, in a Facebook post criticised Binsha. He made some unsavoury remarks against the district panchayat member in between the comments. Party members and supporters posted some anti-women remarks under the post.
Even women CPM representatives and area committee member have liked the post and reacted to it. The CPM launched a women's campaign in the state to overcome the death of Vismaya and the Josephine controversy that followed. On the other hand, it is alleged that the CPM members are trying to harass even the people's representatives of their own front on social media.
