THRISSUR: Two murders rocked Thrissur district on Thiruvonam day. The murder in Iringalakuda was over rent. Sooraj, son of Saseendran in Manappadi, was killed in an attack by landlord and his gang.
According to the police, there was a dispute between the landlord and Saseendran, who had rented the house. Saseendran and his family were thrashed as the landlord forcibly tried to evict them. Sooraj, who was beaten, died and Saseendran, who was critically injured, is undergoing treatment. Police said they are looking for the accused. Swaroop, another person injured in the attack, is also undergoing treatment.
Elsewhere, a murder took place under the influence of alcohol. Suresh, 52, a native of Chendrapinni, was stabbed to death by his relative Anoop. They have had disputes before. Meanwhile, Anoop invited Suresh to his house and got drunk with him. Anoop stabbed Suresh several times in the neck during a dispute. The accused has been arrested by the police.
