WASHINGTON: A global survey conducted by Morning Consult Political Intelligence has named Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the leader with the highest approval rating.
The data by Morning Consult, which regularly tracks popularity ratings of a host of global leaders, has put Modi with 70 percent approval on the top of a list which included US President Joe Biden and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
The rating is determined every week. Modi topped the list on September 2.
Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (64%) came second and Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi (63%) came third in the list. US President Joe Biden (48%) came fifth.
Modi has overtaken world leaders such as German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro. Modi is one of the least rejected leaders in the negative rating.
