End this salute system or else don’t salute anyone, says Suresh Gopi

KOTTAYAM: Suresh Gopi MP has responded to the salute controversy. My opinion is to end the system of salute, but the political discrimination in that cannot be permitted, Suresh Gopi said.

‘Who stoked a controversy… first say that. Does this police officer have a complaint? Police Association is whose association? The people cannot carry this association. It is only for their welfare. So don't play politics with that. We can see later.’

‘Who said not to salute MPs and MLAs? The police have a system in Kerala and India. We should obey that. Put an end to the salute system. Do not salute anyone, but the political discrimination coming cannot be permitted,’ said Suresh Gopi.

Meantime, he responded that the Pala Bishop had not made a communal reference and that the meeting was not as a politician but as an MP. Suresh Gopi added that he talked various social issues with the bishop.
