THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government has not decided to stop the free food kit, said Food Minister G R Anil. There is presently a financial crisis for the distribution. However, the distribution will continue for the time being, he said.

The minister said that an opinion has been raised that free food kits need to be given to priority groups. A decision will be taken only after detailed talks. The government sees everyone as equal, the minister said.

‘No decision has been taken to stop the free food kit. We have financial problems ahead of us to deliver. The necessary decisions will be taken with that in mind. An opinion has been raised that free food kits need to be given to priority groups. The government started such schemes to protect the people during this Covid period after seeing everyone as equal. No distinction has yet been made,’ he said.
