THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The draft guidelines to be adopted to control Covid when the school reopens on November 1 are ready. The education minister gave instructions on the procedures to be followed while taking classes in schools. As per that only two students are allowed to sit on a bench in a class. Students will not be allowed to stand in groups at school for any reason. The secretaries of health and education were entrusted in preparing the guidelines for the opening of schools. The other important decisions in the guidelines are

  • Lunch will not be prepared in school and instead allowance will be given
  • Uniforms will not be mandatory for students
  • Classes will be disinfected every day
  • There will be online awareness class for parents
  • KSRTC service for big schools
  • The teachers will be in control of the school
  • Students will not be allowed in shops in front of the schools

In the first phase, classes one to seven and classes ten to twelve will be started. The IMA had warned in advance on the things to be implemented by the government. The IMA has asked the government to ensure that teachers and other staff are properly vaccinated and that parents of students are vaccinated.
