KANNUR: The halal controversy is part of the Sangh Parivar agenda and the issue is being raised to attack the minorities, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan while inaugurating the CPM area committee meeting in Kannur. The chief minister said halal means only eatable food and even the food provided by the Indian Parliament has been recorded as halal.

The move of the Sangh Parivar to create clash in the country in the name of cow slaughter prohibition act are part of an agenda. At the same time, minorities are also being attacked. The halal controversy in Kerala is part of this agenda. However, the chief minister said that after the controversy was raised, they too realized the emptiness of it. The Sangh Parivar is trying to create a division in the state through these controversies, he said.

The attitude of the central government is to undermine the values of the Constitution. The Congress and the BJP have the same policy. The aim of both parties is to fondle any communalism and come to power. Governs according to the interests of the corporates. The chief minister said that a clear stand is needed to eradicate communalism and the Left Front could do that.
