Public relations officer directed to give special attention to VIPs reaching Guruvayur

GURUVAYUR: The public relations officer has been directed to arrange special facilities for the darshan of VIPs in Guruvayur temple. The controversial directive was released by the Guruvayur devaswom administration. However, the order said entry will be only via devotees’ queue at Annalakshmy Hall for the prasadaoottu.

The Guruvayur devaswom administration have decided to sell the Mahindra Thar gifted to the temple. The new edition Thar was gifted as vazhipadu to the temple a few days back. Many devotees approached the temple to buy the vehicle after knowing about it. The basic price is Rs 15 lakh. The auction of the vehicle will be held on December 18 at 3 pm at the Kizhakkenada of the temple.

The administration panel has also decided to reduce the rate of silver and sandalwood offered for the thulabharam. The rate has been fixed at Rs 10,000 for sandalwood and Rs 20,000 for silver. Chairman Adv K B Mohandas presided the meet attended by board members Mallissery Parameswaran Namboodiripad, Tantri P C Dineshan Namboodiripad, A V Prashanth, K Ajith, K V Shaji, E P R Veshala, Advocate K V Mohanakrishnan and administrator K P Vinayan.
