PALAKKAD: The office of megastar Mammootty has entrusted a senior lawyer for legal assistance to the family of Madhu, killed in Attappadi. Robert Kuriakose, leading Mammootty’s charitable activities said that advocate V Nanda Kumar has been entrusted to fight for Madhu. This was informed to Madhu's sister.
Madhu was beaten to death by the locals on February 22 in 2018 accusing him of theft. He was brutally beaten to death by a mob for stealing food items from shops. The trial has not yet begun even four years after the murder.
The trial is being postponed due to the absence of the special prosecutor. With this, the family levelled allegations. The court then intervened in the matter. Advocate V T Raghunath said the other day that he is not interested in continuing as the special prosecutor following suspicion against himself. Mammootty's intervention is in this situation.
V Nanda Kumar is practicing in Kerala and Madras High Courts.
