NEW DELHI: The Centre is rumoured to make a move to tackle Arvind Kejriwal, the Aam Aadmi Party chief and Delhi Chief Minister, who is focusing on national politics after AAP's landslide victory in Punjab in the Assembly elections. The BJP's move is to make Lakshadweep administrator Praful Khoda Patel the lieutenant governor of Delhi. Praful Khoda Patel is a man who became a controversial figure by enforcing controversial laws in Lakshadweep. Arvind Kejriwal has made a tweet asking whether Lakshadweep administrator Praful Khoda Patel is the next lieutenant governor of Delhi which sparked a new debate on social media. The current lieutenant governor of Delhi is SH Anil Baijal.

Former BJP leader Praful Khoda Patel took over as Lakshadweep administrator in December 2020. His subsequent legal reforms led to popular uprisings in the island. The main criticism at the time was that Praful was implementing the BJP's policies.

Earlier, Arvind Kejriwal had announced that his next target would be Gujarat after his victory in Punjab. He said Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh are two states on AAP's radar. Chief Ministers Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann will lead a victory march in Gujarat next month. As a start, Vijaya Yatra will be organized in all the wards till the 16th of this month. By 2024, Kejriwal expects AAP to be a national party and an alternative to Congress. AAP Gujarat in-charge Gulab Singh recently said that Kejriwal would one day lead the country.
