Chitharanjan MLA’s complaint yield results, price of appam and egg roast reduced

ALAPPUZHA: P P Chitharanjan MLA had come forward against a hotel for charging more for the appam and egg curry he ate. The hotel had charged Rs 184 for five appams and two egg roast.

The price of a thin appam is Rs 15 and Rs 50 for one egg roast. He had breakfast from a hotel in Kanichukulangara. The hotel owner reduced the price of both items after the incident stoked a controversy. Egg roast has been reduced by Rs 10 to Rs 40 and that of appam from Rs 5 to 10, informed the hotel owner.

The MLA had earlier lodged a complaint with the district collector seeking action against hotels of Alappuzha constituency for charging more.
