LMS Church made a cathedral; a section hoots at bishop, tense situation in place

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A tense situation is prevailing at the Palayam LMS Church. A protest was staged against the announcement of declaring the church as a cathedral. Bishop Dharmaraj Rasalam made the announcement converting the church to a cathedral. Shortly after this, a section hooted at the bishop.

The bishop informed that the church has been released from the hands of those occupying it. The church committee has also been disbanded. A 20-member new committee has been appointed. The present priests have been removed and instead five priests have been appointed. A protest broke out soon after this.

A large contingent of police has been deployed in the area. The protesters said the church has a democratic constitution and the action is against it.
