Tuition centre teacher arrested for sexually abusing 12-year-old girl

KOZHIKODE: The police arrested a teacher of a tuition centre for sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl. The Nadapuram police arrested Babu (55), a native of Velloor in Kodenchery. The locals vandalised the tuition centre in Nadapuram following the incident.

The incident happened on Monday afternoon. It is alleged that Babu sexually assaulted the student at the tuition centre. She told her parents about the incident. The police registered a case on the complaint of the child's mother. After the incident came to light, Babu was thrashed and the police rushed him to the hospital.

He started an educational institute in Nadapuram last month. After receiving a complaint from the police, an unidentified person vandalised the establishment on Monday night and set it on fire. Babu, who was produced in the court was remanded.
