THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A private bus driver and a conductor, who thrashed a passenger over balance dispute of one rupee, were arrested. The accused have been identified as Sunil and Aneesh. The incident gained attention as the visuals of the attack, shot by a fellow passenger, got circulated on social media. The duo had thrashed Shiras, a native of Kallambalam. However, Aneesh had earlier lodged a complaint against Shiras saying that he had thrashed him. But, the police registered cases against Aneesh and Sunil, after inspecting the visuals on social media. The incident took place when Shiraz, an electrician, arrived in Thiruvananthapuram to collect his wages.

Shiras had only Rs 12 with him, while the bus ticket from Peroorkada to Palayam costed Rs 13. However, the bus operators stopped the bus and thrashed Shiras demanding the balance of one rupee. The driver and conductor license of the accused will be cancelled. Both of them have been released on station bail.
