THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan called an emergency meeting of top police officials late last night to discuss the law and order situation in the state, including the lapses in the PC George case. The meeting was held at the CM's office. DGP Anil Kant, ADGP at the police headquarters, ADGP in charge of law and order and the ADGP of Intelligence attended the meeting.
The Chief Minister directed the top police officials to be vigilant in the RSS and SDPI clashes. Communal conflicts must be suppressed. The CM assessed that there was a lapse on the part of the police in handling the case against PC George. The Chief Minister has called a meeting of top police officials again on the day after tomorrow.
