To the party they are still terrorists and murderers, Gandhi family chose to forgive them on humanitarian grounds; Congress clarifies its stand on Perarivalan's release

NEW DELHI: The Congress has clarified its stand on the release of Rajive Gandhi's assassination convict Perarivalan. AICC General Secretary Randeep Surjewala said that while the Gandhi family had chosen to forgive Perarivalan on humanitarian grounds, the Congress did not share the same stand. Surjewala said the convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case were still terrorists and murderers in the eyes of the party.
