KOCHI: The crime branch will seek the court more time to gather evidence in the case of the attack on the actress. Time is needed to complete the investigation. The crime branch will seek three months’ time in the high court today.

The high court will also consider the plea filed by the survivor mentioning an attempt to sabotage the case. The survivor in the plea asserted that there is political intervention at the government level to close the investigation in the case and demanded to prevent filing the charge sheet in the case. She had called on the chief minister yesterday and had expressed her concern in the matter. However, the chief minister assured that the government is with the actress.

The Director General of Prosecutions had told the court that the actress' fear was unnecessary and that the case should not be used politically. Justice Ziyad Rahman will be considering the plea today.
