Watched KGF three times in two days, smoked cigarettes inspired by Rocky Bhai; 15-year-old lands in hospital

HYDERABAD: ‘KGF 2’ starring Yash as Rocky Bhai continues its run in theatres even after three weeks of grossing over Rs 1,300 crores worldwide. So far, we have seen several videos and reels featuring kids imitating Rocky Bhai. However, a 15-year-old boy from Hyderabad has done something else and landed in the soup.

The teenager, who smoked a full packet of cigarettes inspired by Rocky Bhai, fell severely sick. The boy watched KGF 2 three times in just two days. Meanwhile, he developed severe cough and throat ache complications leading to immediate need of medical attention. He was soon rushed to Century Hospital in Hyderabad. The boy was discharged on Saturday after giving proper counselling and treatment.

“Movies are a highly influencing element of our society, and it is important movie makers and actors have a moral responsibility to not glamorize acts like smoking cigarettes or chewing tobacco or consuming alcohol. Characters like ‘Rocky Bhai’ have a cult following and young minds do get influenced by the acts of these demigods on the screen,” said Dr Rohit Reddy Pathuri.
