Footwear and clothes abandoned on step; missing 13-year-old boy found dead

PALAKKAD: A 13-year-old boy who went missing yesterday, has been found dead. The deceased is Al Ameen (13), the son of Kottarathodi native Anwar Sadat and Rasiya. He was a class 7 student of the Kumaranalloor GHSS. Al Ameen had gone missing from Kumaranalloor yesterday evening.

The child's body was found in a pond in a private property in Vellalur. The child had been missing since yesterday evening. Following this, the family informed the police about the matter. The body was found in the pond during a search carried out by the relatives, locals and the police. The child's footwear and clothes were found abandoned on the pavement of the pond. The body was taken out of the pond by the fire force team that arrived from Pattambi.

The preliminary conclusion of the police is that the child might have drowned to death after he entered the pond to take a bath. The police said that the cause of death will be clear only after the post-mortem report comes out. The body has been shifted to the Pattambi Taluk Hospital. It will be handed over to the family after post-mortem. Al Ameen's siblings: Sana Fathima and Amna Shahsin.
