97 children hospitalized for food poisoning after eating pani puri from fair, seller detained

MANDLA: 97 children, who ate pani puri at a fair in Madhya Pradesh’s Mandla, have been hospitalized for food poisoning. The children complained of vomiting and stomach pain. The children ate the food from a fair organized in Mandla district. The children ate the snack from the same shop organized in the tribal dominated Singarpur area last evening.

They complained of vomiting and stomach pain around 7.30 pm and were admitted in the hospital. Dr K R Shakya, civil surgeon of the district hospital said they are out of danger. The police have taken into custody the seller of pani puri. The samples of the food have been sent for an examination. Mandla MP and Union Minister Faggan Singh Kulaste, met the children undergoing treatment in the hospital.
