attack

KOLLAM: A three-member group attacked a hospital when they were asked to wear masks. The incident happened on Monday night at Neendakara Govt Taluk Hospital. Two including a staff nurse was injured. Staff nurse Shyamili and security employee Sankarankutty sustained injuries. After kicking Shyamili, they smashed the glass panes of the casualty’s pharmacy.

Though the miscreants tried to attack duty doctor Unnikrishnan, he somehow escaped from their hands. Shyamili has been shifted to the district hospital. Those on duty had asked a bystander to wear a mask. The youth questioned this and misbehaved with Shyamili. The hospital authorities then lodged a complaint on it at the Chavara police station. It is suspected that enmity over this led to the attack. A team led by special branch ACP Ashok Kumar reached the hospital and inspected.
