Alina is the first Malayalee woman police in New Zealand

PALA: Pala native Alina Abhilash has become the first Malayali woman police officer in New Zealand. Alina, who completed her training at the Royal New Zealand Police College, has been assigned to Auckland as a constable.

This 22-year-old is the daughter of Ullanad native Abhilash Sebastian and Pizhaku native Bobby, who are settled in Palmerston North. She joined the police force after studying psychology and criminology at the University of Otago.

Alina studied in Pala Chavara Public School till 6th standard. Later, she migrated to New Zealand with her parents. Albi Abhilash, a first-year law student, is her brother.
