THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister V Sivankutty on Thursday said in the assembly that Plus Two study facilities will be provided to all those who are eligible for higher studies.
"A certain percentage of seats will be increased in the districts where there is a shortage of seats. There will be three major allotments this time. There are 1,83,085 government seats, 1,92,630 aided seats and 56,366 unaided seats in higher secondary. There are 2,19,274 seats for Science, 87,148 for Humanities and 1,25,659 for Commerce. Humanities had more demand last year. Allotment will be made by awarding bonus points along with merit. However, authorities have been directed that bonus points should not override merit. There are 33,000 seats in Vocational Higher Secondary. CBSE and ICSE students will also be given the opportunity to pursue higher studies," the minister said.
