No religious rituals; Cremation as per Pratap Pothen’s wish

CHENNAI: The mortal remains of actor and director Pratap Pothen were cremated at Velankadu crematorium in New Avadi, Chennai. As per his wish, Pratap Pothen was cremated without any religious rituals. Relative Anil Thomas had earlier said that Pratap Pothen had requested that his mortal remains should be cremated.

Numerous prominent personalities from the film industry, including Kamal Haasan, Maniratnam, Sathyaraj, Vetrimaran, Rajeev Menon and Rahman attended the funeral and offered condolences. The NORKA representative in Chennai paid his last respects on behalf of the Kerala Chief Minister and Cultural Affairs Minister. Pratap Pothen was found dead at his residence on Friday.
