IPL influence in South African cricket league, Indians buy all six teams in the league

CAPE TOWN: It is reported that various IPL teams have acquired six teams in the South African T20 league scheduled to be held in January and February next year. But no official announcement has been made so far.

According to reports, Chennai Super Kings acquired the Johannesburg-based team, Reliance Industries, the owners of Mumbai Indians acquired Cape Town franchise and Sun TV Group owners of Sunrisers Hyderabad acquired Port Elizabeth franchise. Apart from this Lucknow Supergiants owner Sanjiv Goenka owns Durban team, Rajasthan Royals owners acquired Pall team and Delhi Capitals co-owner Perth Jindal owns Pretoria franchise.

Former South African captain Graeme Smith was appointed as the commissioner of the league. Former IPL CEO Sundar Raman is the mastermind behind the South African T20 league. South Africa had pulled out of the Australian series scheduled to be held in January for the T20 league.
