One vote from Kerala is worth more than 139; Surendran shares joy

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the presidential poll, the one vote for NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu from Kerala is worth more than 139, said BJP state president K Surendran, through a Facebook post.

Sharing a picture of Draupadi Murmu he wrote, “One vote for Srimati Draupadi Murmu from Kerala is worth more than 139. It is the only positive vote against the Left-Right Fronts’ negative stances.”

In Kerala, 140 MLAs had declared their support for opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha, but one unexpectedly voted for Draupadi Murmu. This is the first time in the history of Kerala that such an event of cross-voting has occurred in the presidential polls. As it was a secret ballot, it will be difficult to find out who had voted for Murmu.
