Woman smothers seven-year-old son to death with a pillow in Kozhikode

KOZHIKODE: In a gruesome incident, a woman suffocated her seven-year-old son by allegedly smothering him to death at Atholi in Kozhikode. The woman identified as Jumail smothered her son Hamdan with a pillow. She was undergoing treatment for mental illness. The incident happened Sunday morning at 2 am. The Atholi police have taken the boy’s mother to custody.

A post mortem was conducted as it raised a suspicion. The post-mortem revealed that the boy died due to suffocation. In an investigation, the mother confessed to have committed the crime.
