PATHANAMTHITTA: A court has ordered to register case against former minister KT Jaleel in connection with the controversial Kashmir remark. The order is from Thiruvallla Judicial First Class Magistrate Court on a petition filed by RSS District Prachar Pramukh Arun Mohan. The court was approached because the police was not ready to take action despite filing a complaint. The court directed the Kizhvaipur SHO to take up the case.

A social media post written by KT Jaleel MLA about the sights he saw while visiting Jammu and Kashmir landed in a controversy recently. In his account of the social life of Kashmir, he said that there are soldiers with guns everywhere and that Kashmiris have become a people who have forgotten to laugh. Jalil opines that the resentment of the second Modi government's abrogation of Kashmir into three can be read from people's expressions, and that the feeling of alienation is still clinging to the hearts of Kashmiris.

However, Jaleel's controversial opinion was that he described Pak Occupied Kashmir, a part of India unjustly occupied by Pakistan, as 'Azad Kashmir'. Many people objected with this opinion of the MLA. At the same time, Jaleel described the parts of Jammu, Kashmir Valley and Ladakh under Indian authority as Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
