KOCHI: A stray dog that bit two people in Aluva has died. The dog caught from Neduvannoor died while it was under observation. Haneefa and George of Neduvannoor were bitten by the dog. The dog bit Haneefa when he was standing on the road to repair his car. The dog bit him and only after a great effort was able chase it away. George was also bit in the same place. Both took vaccine from Kalamassery Medical College. The other animals bit by the dog are also under observation.

Stray dog attacks were rampant in various parts of the state in recent days. A 12-year-old girl identified as Abhirami, bitten by a dog in Pathanamthitta, died of rabies the other day. This year alone, 21 people died due to rabies in the state. Some people died despite taking the rabies vaccine. Health Minister Veena George had informed the other day that the government will appoint an expert panel to study the rabies outbreak after severe criticism.
