THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police arrested one more person in connection with the assault case in which a man was beaten in front of his daughter at the KSRTC depot in Kattakada by the transport employees. Preman, the victim, was assaulted when he along with his daughter and her friend reached the depot to renew her concession card.

The police arrested the fourth accused in the case, Ajikumar, who is a mechanic at the KSRTC depot, from Panniyode. There are a total of five accused in the case. While the police have arrested two persons, three more are still to be nabbed.

The second accused, security officer, Suresh Kumar, was arrested yesterday and presented in court. The court has remanded him to two weeks in custody. Earlier, the Thiruvananthapuram Additional Session Court had rejected the anticipatory bail submitted by all the accused.

The assault took place on the 20th of last month when Preman went to Katakkada with his daughter and her friend to renew her concession card. The employee insisted that to renew the concession card her course certificate was required. When Preman argued that there was no such stipulation when the card was renewed three months ago, the tussle got worse and the employees began assaulting him in front of his daughter and her friend.
