Kozhikode to gift world’s biggest boot to FIFA World Cup in Qatar

KOZHIKODE: Kozhikode has made the world’s biggest boot for the world’s biggest event in soccer – The FIFA World Cup – due next month in Qatar.

The 17 feet long and 6 feet high boot weighing 450 kg is built by IMAX Gold Rice Industries – a prominent producer of biryani rice in India and the biggest exporter of jeerakashala rice.

The boot is made up of leather, fiber, rexine, foam sheet, and acrylic sheets. The work is supervised by prominent artist and curator, M Dileep. The boot will be transported on a ship to Qatar and will be exhibited at the main tourist spots in that country.

The boot will be received in Qatar under the leadership of the international youth organization, Focus International. The boot will be put on display at Kozhikode beach from 5 pm to 9 pm. The inauguration of the display will be done by Deputy Mayor, Musafar Ahamed, and former footballer, Asif Sahir.

Ports Minister, Ahamed Devarkovil, will hand over the boot to Events Director of Focus International, Askar Rehman.

IMAX Gold Chairman, CP Abdul Varish, CEO, Abdul Basith, Event Coordinator, Majeed Pullikal, and Marketing Director, and Shamir Suruma were present at the press meet.
