Youth Congress activists wearing PPE kits wave black flag against CM, arrested by police

KOTTAYAM: A group of Youth Congress workers on Friday protested against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on PPE kit corruption allegations. The Youth Congress workers wearing PPE kits waved black flags at the Chief Minister.

The Youth Congress workers staged the protest while the Chief Minister was returning after inaugurating the general session of the Karshaka Sangham State Conference. The protesters, who were waiting near the Kottayam DCC office, waved black flags and Congress flags towards the Chief Minister. The police immediately arrested the protesters and moved them from the spot.

The protest took place in the context of the Lokayukta's decision to conduct an investigation into the complaint of corruption in the purchase of PPE kits during the Covid-19 pandemic.
