THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police have filed a case against the owners of an OTT platform and a director on the complaint that they forced a youth to act in an obscene film by offering a chance in a movie.

The Vizhinjam police registered a case of cheating. The police said that they will impose charges on more sections after taking the detailed statement of the youth. It was a 26-year-old native of Venganoor, Thiruvananthapuram, who filed a police complaint against the OTT platform and the director.

In his complaint, the youth said that the makers of the film forced him to act in the film. He also said that he is on the verge of committing suicide as he will not be able to live in his house or anywhere in the state if the film gets released. The film, directed by a female director, will be released in five languages, including Malayalam. The youth's family threw him out of the house after the announcement of the film came in Telegram. The youth said that he had applied to this OTT platform after learning that the makers were looking for a hero in the OTT series.

The shooting of the film took place at a resort in Aruvikkara. The youth had signed an agreement before acting in the film. It was only after a while that he came to know that it was an adults-only platform and that he was the hero of an obscene film. When he tried to leave the shooting location, the makers asked him to pay Rs 5 lakh as compensation. So, he was forced to act in the film.
