SFI removes banner insulting governor; move after Raj Bhavan seeks explanation

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The banner insulting Governor Arif Mohammed Khan tied at the Sanskrit College in the capital city has been removed. The banner was tied by the SFI activists of the college. The banner was removed after the Raj Bhavan sought an explanation on the incident. The registrar was directed to seek an explanation from the principal regarding the banner as soon as it was noticed. The incident sparked a controversy and news appeared in the media as well.

The banner was tied on top of the college gate a few days ago. The banner said, 'Raj Bhavan does not belong to the governor's father’. Noticing this, the officials of Raj Bhavan informed the vice chancellor. The pictures were also handed over. Following that, an explanation was sought from the principal through the registrar. The SFI leadership directed the unit office bearers to remove the banner.
