THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Union Minister of State, V Muraleedharan has lashed out against the Chief Minister, after the state government informed the High Court that it is not against deploying central forces to provide security to construction of Vizhinjam Port.

V Muraleedharan said that the CM must stop mass dialogues and take actions to maintain law and order. A situation has risen where Rs.200 crores is lost and people and police at Vizhinjam came under attack. During all this time the CM was hiding and after ten days have appeared with mass dialogues.

He said that the state government’s decision to deploy central forces to maintain law and order shows its failure. If the CM cannot guarantee the security for life and property of the people then he must resign from his position.

Meanwhile, the government told the court of its willingness to deploy central forces during the hearing of the plea submitted by Adani Port at the High Court. The court has asked the center on its decision.

The Adani Ports had submitted a plea at the High Court saying that the state government is not giving the needed protection and that the construction of the Vizhinjam Port is being blocked. In the plea the Adani Ports has requested the deployment of central forces as enough security is not provided by state government.

The government informed the court that if people are evicted forcefully from the project site, then it might turn violent and cause the deaths of hundreds of people. Earlier, the court had given an interim order to deploy central forces if the police is unable to provide the required security. The company approached the government when this order was not implemented.
