K-Rail yet to furnish requested details regarding SilverLine, Nemom coaching terminal project frozen: Union Railway Minister

NEW DELHI: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has said that K Rail Corporation has not provided the details requested by the Ministry of Railways regarding the Silver Line project. He also clarified that DPR of Silver Line is under consideration of the Ministry. The minister said this as a response to Elamaram Kareem MP's question.

Meanwhile, the Railway Ministry also said that the Nemom coaching terminal project has been frozen. The Minister said in Parliament that the project has been temporarily frozen and that the Southern Railway is conducting a detailed study on the need for a terminal in Thiruvananthapuram.

Further action will be taken on the matter after receiving the study report of Southern Railway. BJP leaders in Kerala had earlier met with the Union Railway Minister. The leaders said that they have got assurance from the minister that the project will be completed.
