THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The member of parliament from Thiruvananthapuram Shashi Tharoor responded about the ongoing battle for the CM seat within the Congress party.
“Let the building be constructed first, the furniture can be purchased after that. You won’t get any response from my side because all such topics are unnecessary’, Tharoor quipped.
Speaking at the Sathya Sai Baba centenary celebrations, he responded to the debates about the Chief Minister's post in the Congress in Kerala. Senior Congress Leaders K. Sudhakaran, V. D. Satheesan, Shashi Tharoor, K. Muraleedharan, K C Venugopal and Ramesh Chennithala are eying for the prized CM post, as per reports.
Ramesh Chennithala told Kerala Kaumudi that all the rumours were baseless when asked about the conflict between leaders for the CM post.
“The party needs every worker by our side. This is the time to be united. Panchayat elections will be held soon. The common worker of the party needs to work hard on the ground to ensure victory. The win will be vital for our big mission in 2026. In 2010, when I was the president of KPCC, Congress and UDF won the biggest victory in the local elections in the history of Kerala.” Said Ramesh.
