CPM leader assaulted for questioning indecent affairs at homestay, CITU worker arrested

ALAPPUZHA: A complaint has been raised that a CITU activist physically assaulted a CPM branch secretary. CPM's Alappuzha Mullakkal D Branch Secretary and Mullakkal Manna Residents Association Treasurer Soni Joseph (37) was allegedly beaten up by Sudheer, a CITU activist who runs a homestay and his aide.

The incident happened at 7:30 am on Thursday. As per the complaint, Soni, who was going in his vehicle, was stopped and beaten up. He sustained chest and back injuries and is being treated at Alappuzha Medical College. Following the incident, Sudheer and his aide were taken into custody by the police.

The police said that the reason for the assault was questioning of indecent affairs in the homestay of the accused. Such allegations were raised against this homestay before as well. Meanwhile, Sudheer has been expelled from the party.
