'Shafi Parambil attempting to help BJP win in Palakkad', widespread bogus voting in constituency, says CPM

PALAKKAD: CPM Palakkad district secretary EN Suresh Babu alleged that the Congress and BJP of planning to engage in widespread bogus voting in the Palakkad constituency in connection with the upcoming by-election. He has filed a complaint in this regard to the District Collector.

"37 voters in booth 177 are not from that area. Voters of other constituencies have also been added here. The Election Commission should intervene in the matter. Fake IDs have been made even in the names of the dead," Suresh Babu said.

"There is an unholy nexus between the BJP and the Congress in Palakkad. The Congress is appealing to the people to vote for the UDF candidate to prevent the BJP from winning. Shafi Parambil had intervened to help C Krishnakumar win in Malampuzha. Why did C Krishnakumar not contest in Palakkad when Shafi contested in the constituency? Shafi is trying to help the BJP win this time as well," he added.
