First blood test showed no presence of poison, what led to Anjusree’s death? Police to check phone

KASARGOD: The police have intensified investigation after confirmed that the death of Anjusree (19), a college student, was not due to food poisoning. The preliminary postmortem report mentioned that the girl's liver and internal organs have been damaged due to the poison that entered her body leading to her death.

Anjusree's blood was tested in a private lab on January 5. The result did not mention the presence of poison. However, the presence of toxicity was detected in the post-mortem conducted on January 8. The police are investigating how the poison got inside.

The internal organs have been sent for chemical analysis. Only after getting the report, the exact reason will be known. The statement of the forensic surgeon is that a detailed examination is needed to find out which poison went inside. The police have taken Anjusree's mobile phone into custody. They are checking it.

It was first stated that she fell ill after eating kuzhimanthi bought online from Bayal Al Romance Hotel on December 31. She ate kuzhimanthi, mayonnaise, green chutney and chicken 65. Apart from Anjusree, her mother, brother and her relative had eaten the same food. Anjusree and her relatives started vomiting and developed uneasiness the next day. However, the latest reports said none of the others had any problems.

Anjusree was first taken to a private hospital at Deli in Kasaragod and returned home after initial treatment. She was brought to the same hospital on January 5 after she fell ill again. Her blood was tested. She was sent home after given antibiotics. She fainted on January 6. Though she was admitted at a private hospital in Mangalore, her life could not be saved and died on January 7.
