NEW DELHI: The central security agencies warned Congress leader Rahul Gandhi ahead of entering Jammu and Kashmir as part of his Bharat Jodo Yatra. The agencies advised Rahul to not walk certain stretches during his yatra and instead travel in car.
Security agencies want only handful of people to accompany him when the Bharat Jodo Yatra reaches Srinagar. The agencies will be checking the areas where the yatra passes and where the leaders stay overnight.
The Bharat Jodo Yatra is presently in Punjab. The yatra will enter Kathua in Kashmir on Thursday. Rahul will hoist the national flag in Banihal on January 25. They will enter Srinagar via Anantnag on January 27. When Rahul reaches Srinagar, only a handful of people should travel with him, warned the agencies.
As there are security issues the agencies are collecting details of those accompanying Rahul. He presently has Z plus category security cover. The concluding session of the Bharat Jodo Yatra will be held in Srinagar on January 30.
