ISL: Kerala Blasters suffer back-to-back defeats as FC Goa win 3-1

PANAJI: FC Goa got secured three crucial points after beating Kerala Blasters 3-1 in the Indian Super League (ISL) match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa on Sunday.


With this win, FC Goa end their four-game winless run in the ISL. Iker Guarrotxena, Noah Sadaoui and Redeem Tlang scored for the Goans and Dimitrios Diamantakos scored a lone goal for Kerala. Goa is now at fifth position and Kerala at third position in the points table.

Guarrotxena scored from the spot kick, which was his seventh goal of the season.


Noah Sadaoui doubled the hosts' advantage in the 43rd minute after missing a chance a few minutes before.


In the second half, Kerala Blasters came out fighting and Dimitrios Diamantakos got on the scoresheet in the 51st minute as he nod the ball in from close range from an Adrian Luna freekick.


However, FC Goa managed to douse the Blasters' fire in the 69th minute as Redeem Tlang scored from a counter.


FC Goa will host East Bengal FC on January 26 while Kerala Blasters will host NorthEast United FC next on January 29.
