Assembly session from October 4; Cabinet meeting decisions

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The cabinet meeting has decided to recommend to the Governor to convene the 12th session of the 15th Kerala Legislative Assembly from October 4. The meeting also decided to turn six mobile courts into regular Judicial First Class Magistrate Courts.

The mobile courts in Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Kozhikode, and Kannur will be converted into regular Judicial First Class Magistrate Courts. 21 new posts will be created. 16 posts allotted in Criminal Courts will be converted.

Family budget survey
To revise the wages of workers covered under the 1948 Minimum Wages Act, a new Family Budget Survey will be conducted to prepare a consumer price index. The survey will be conducted by accepting the recommendation submitted by the Economics and Statistics Department considering 2023-24 as the base year. A State-level Consumer Price Index Revision Committee will be formed to oversee related matters.

The posts of Deputy Director (1), Research Assistant (1), and LD Clerk/Typist (2) will be created for 18 months. These positions will be filled through redeployment. Additionally, 22 Field Workers will be hired for 18 months at a daily wage of Rs 600.

Homeo Dispensary
A Homeo Dispensary will be started in Aluva Municipality under the Karunya scheme of the National AYUSH Mission.

GS Santhosh named MD of State Handicrafts Development Corporation
GS Santhosh will be appointed as the Managing Director of the Kerala State Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd.
