TRIVANDRUM: The finance department in Kerala has issued a circular stating the employees to distance themselves from critiquing the government policy or face punitive actions. The finance department's additional chief secretary Biswanath Sinha issued the circular asking the employees to not use social media for criticizing the government-initiated policies. In recent times, many within the finance department went against the government policies on social media, which caught the official eye.
According to the 1960 government employee guidelines, no government employee shall critique any policies initiated by the government in public. If found engaging in such demeaning work, the department will place a block on salary increments and will prolong any kind of promotion coming the employees' way.
