IDUKKI: Local residents are in fear after a herd of wild elephants has been spotted in the residential area of Chinnakanal. The efforts of the forest department to bring the elephants into the forest will continue today.

The wild elephant herd makes it difficult for the people on top of rogue tuskers such as Arikomban, Chakkakomban and Mottavaalan, which come out of the wild to human settlements. Three calves are among the ten elephants in the area. The wild elephant herds that often come down from the wild have caused extensive damage. Locals are calling out for adequate precautions as elephant trouble is on the rise in Idukki unlike the previous years.
