Heavy rainfall expected in state today; IMD issues special warning for six districts

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian meteorological department highlighted the possibility of heavy rains in the state on Saturday. An orange alert has been declared in Idukki, Wayanad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kasaragod and Kannur districts. Heavy rain is also likely in western parts of the state.

There is a rain warning in all districts tomorrow. Kozhikode, and Kannur districts are on red alert on Sunday. Fishing has been banned on the Kerala coast due to the possibility of high waves.

At the same time, the Indian Meteorological Department has predicted the possibility of rain with thunder and lightning at isolated places in Idukki, Ernakulam, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod districts, for the next three hours. Strong winds with a speed of up to 40 km per hour are also expected.
