HC orders to demolish check-dams of resort previously owned by PV Anvar within one month

KOCHI: The High Court has ordered the demolition of four check-dams of PVR Nature Resort in Kakkadampoyil, which was owned by PV Anvar MLA, within a month. The cost of demolition should be borne by the owners. If else, Koodaranji panchayat can demolish the check-dams and levy the cost from the resort owners.

The High Court had ordered contempt of court proceedings against the district collector for not demolishing the check-dams. After this, the collector ordered to demolish the check dams. The owners then approached the High Court against the district collector's order. The court dismissed the plea and ordered the check-dams to be razed.
